As an enthusiastic life-long learner, Dr. Bob Price began his teaching journey as an alternate route high school science teacher at Hudson Catholic High School, in Jersey City. From this humbling and very supportive experience, he continued teaching with an expanding interest in student achievement at all grade levels. Seeking new opportunities, he moved to a suburban school district where his teaching experiences included middle school science, gifted and talented, and computer education. After years in the classroom, he took on the role of Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Northern Valley Schools consortium, eight school districts in Bergen County. In this role he, along with his team, developed learning opportunities for teachers and administrators that supported the implementation of new standards, new assessments, changes to teacher evaluation, and the shifting responsibilities in teaching and learning.
Dr. Price has presented at numerous conferences on subjects ranging from initiating conflict in science education to implementing a culture of coaching. He has participated on various committees at the state level, including the PARCC Educator Leader Cadre, and NJDOE’s standards review team. He is currently, the President of Learning Forward New Jersey, an Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University, and a Coach/Consultant for the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, NJPSA.
His educational background includes a doctorate degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College at Columbia University, an M.Ed. in Science Education from The Rutgers Graduate School of Education, and a M.A. in Fine Arts from Montclair State College. His B.A. was received from Rutgers College where he majored in Geology and Studio Art.
