Chris Rennie is presently consulting on several projects at Montclair State University, providing professional development to teacher leaders and coaching 1st year teachers. Prior to this work, Ms. Rennie was the Induction Coordinator for the Newark Montclair Urban Teacher Residency program. Among her many accomplishments, she served as the Team Lead for the NJ Collaborative Assessment and Planning for Achievement (CAPA) team reviewing level 3 – 4 schools, co-authored the CAPA Teaching and Learning tool, served as a math education consultant to elementary and high schools, providing professional development in mathematics content and instructional strategies. Prior to her work with CAPA, Ms. Rennie was a Senior School Reform Specialist with The Center for Effective School Practices at Rutgers University working with math coaches in the elementary schools in Paterson, NJ. During her 15 years of work in schools, Ms. Rennie worked as an elementary school teacher, high school mathematics teacher and department chair and vice principal in public and private high schools. Ms. Rennie also worked for 20+ years as a director of learning organizations in the financial services industry. Chris Rennie’s special interest and competency is in coaching /building support and capacity for teachers and teacher leaders.
